To cover the cost of purchasing and maintaining these pieces of history, admission to the museum is by donation.
Season Opening for 2010: July 12th, 2010 - 1pm to 5pm
The Museum has two distinct divisions:
- Items of the Orange Order
- Items from Conception Bay North
The Orange Order
We have items from all divisions of the order
- Loyal Orange Lodge – Victoria # 3
- Royal Black Preceptory – Lily of the Valley # 458
- Ladies Orange Benevolent Association – Daughters of Victoria # 139
- Crystal Chapter - # 43
- Orange Young Britons – We have no records in Bay Roberts.
Items on display
- Items used by Bay Roberts lodge
- Items donated by previous members of local lodges
- Items from the Grand Lodge of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Items from the Atlantic Districts lodges
- Items from other Canadian lodges
Conception Bay North
We have been contacted by several residents of the community that will be donating new pieces for the 2009 season.
Some pieces we currently have are:
- Mr. Jeff Dawson’s carriage used ( the last carriage used) to deliver mail from the railway station to the post offices in Coley’s Point, Country Road and Bay Roberts
- A 10 foot model of the Kyle all made by hand by Mr. Max Winsor of Harbour Grace
- The horse drawn hearse used in Bay Roberts until the early 1960’s
We have continued to add items to the collection of both the Orange order and local area. In total the museum will have over 400 items on display
